New York, United States, December 2025 — AXA XL has announced the appointment of Pamela Urueta as Chief Administrative Officer and Global Chief Claims Officer, expanding her leadership mandate to include Global Operations, Transformation, Legal & Compliance, and Global Claims. In this role, she will lead enterprise-wide transformation and governance, strengthen AXA XL’s global claims strategy, and drive operational excellence across regions.
Pamela Urueta has been a cornerstone of AXA’s global legal and claims leadership ecosystem for over two decades. Prior to this appointment, she served as Global Chief Claims Officer and General Counsel at AXA XL, where she strengthened global litigation governance, enhanced compliance frameworks, and led strategic transformation programs across claims operations worldwide.
Before joining AXA XL, she served as Chief Counsel, Litigation and Special Investigations at MetLife, where she led high-impact litigation, regulatory response, and investigations at a global scale, building strong enterprise risk mitigation frameworks.
Her earlier career reflects deep leadership within AXA’s global legal architecture, having served as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel – Global Head of Litigation, General Counsel – Mediterranean & Latin America Region, and Vice President & Counsel at AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, where she shaped global compliance, litigation strategy, and regulatory governance across multiple jurisdictions.
She began her legal career as a Senior Litigation Associate at Kerr & Wagstaffe LLP, establishing her foundation in high-impact corporate litigation.
