Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — DMart – Avenue Supermarts Ltd has approved the appointment of Anshul Asawa as Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel, effective February 1, 2026. He has been serving as CEO Designate at DMart – Avenue Supermarts Ltd since March 2025 and will now formally assume the top leadership role.
In his role as CEO, Anshul Asawa will be responsible for leading the overall strategy, operations, and growth agenda of DMart, one of India’s largest and most trusted supermarket chains. His appointment underscores the company’s focus on strengthening leadership depth as it continues to expand its footprint across existing and new markets in India.
Anshul brings with him close to three decades of global leadership experience from Unilever, where he held several senior roles across Asia and Europe. Most recently, he served as General Manager, Greater Asia, Home Care and Head of Country, Unilever Thailand, based in Bangkok, overseeing large-scale operations and regional growth initiatives.
Prior to this, he was Chief Customer Officer – Home Care, Vice President – Digital Commerce, and General Manager – Unilever Professional, roles in which he led customer development, digital and e-commerce transformation, and B2B growth strategies from London. Earlier, as Global Vice President for Digital, E-commerce and Customer Development and General Manager, Home Care Professional (B2B), he played a key role in driving global channel transformation and accelerating growth in emerging and digital channels for Unilever’s Home Care business.
With his extensive background in consumer goods, digital commerce, customer-centric transformation, and large-scale operations, Anshul is expected to play a pivotal role in DMart’s next phase of growth and operational excellence.
