London, England, United Kingdom, January 2026 — Pearson has appointed Merrie Williamson as Global Growth Officer for Enterprise, strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates enterprise-focused growth, innovation, and global market expansion.
In her new role, Merrie Williamson will lead enterprise growth strategy across Pearson’s global portfolio, driving go-to-market execution, customer value creation, and scalable revenue growth as organizations increasingly invest in workforce transformation, digital learning, and skills development.
Most recently, Merrie served as Executive Vice President and Chief Customer & Revenue Officer at Equinix, where she was responsible for the company’s global customer experience and go-to-market strategy. In this role, she led more than 4,000 professionals across sales, marketing, customer experience, revenue operations, and regional leadership, supporting over $8 billion in annual revenue while helping customers leverage emerging technologies such as private AI.
Prior to Equinix, Merrie spent nearly five years at Microsoft as Corporate Vice President, Azure, where she architected Azure’s global revenue growth and operating model. During her tenure, she helped scale the business from approximately $15 billion to over $50 billion in revenue, leading large, globally distributed teams and aligning engineering, sales, partners, and marketing around outcome-driven cloud and AI adoption.
Earlier in her career, Merrie spent close to two decades at Intel Corporation, holding senior leadership roles across global sales, marketing, cloud security, and platform innovation. As a sales executive and general manager, she managed billion-dollar enterprise portfolios, shaped Intel’s hyperscaler strategy, led cloud security product transformations, and played a key role in the company’s cloud and data center evolution.
In addition to her executive leadership experience, Merrie currently serves as a Board Member at Barndoor AI, an agentic AI-focused startup, and is active as a strategic advisor, coach, and speaker, working with high-growth technology companies on scaling go-to-market strategies and leadership in the AI-driven enterprise era.
