Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, United States, March 2026 — Krystal Bush has been promoted to Director of HR (Director, People Experience) at Modern Animal, marking a significant milestone in her journey with the fast-growing veterinary care company.
In her new role at Modern Animal, Krystal will continue strengthening the organization’s HR foundations—building people-first systems that both protect the business and support employees across clinics, support teams, and remote care operations. Her leadership focuses on creating scalable HR programs, driving engagement, enhancing performance management, and shaping inclusive workplace practices as the company expands.
Krystal joined Modern Animal in 2022 as Senior Manager, People Business Partner, where she led the HRBP function for a high-growth startup environment. She supported clinic teams, support staff, and virtual care teams, partnering closely with leadership to define people development metrics, implement performance management frameworks, and drive diversity and engagement initiatives. She was subsequently promoted to Senior Manager, People Experience before stepping into her current Director-level role.
Prior to Modern Animal, Krystal held senior HR leadership roles at Chipotle Mexican Grill, where she led People Operations and People Compliance initiatives. She built compliance processes across multiple states, partnered with field operations to strengthen governance frameworks, and supported investigations and employee relations programs.
Earlier in her career, she held HR leadership positions at The Wing, Ross Stores, Inc., Stage Stores, and Target, developing strong expertise in multi-unit HR management, associate relations, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement. She was recognized as Human Resources Business Partner of the Year in 2015 during her tenure at Stage Stores.
With over a decade of progressive HR leadership experience across retail, hospitality, and healthcare-adjacent industries, Krystal Bush’s promotion reflects her impact in building resilient HR infrastructure while fostering a culture where people can thrive.
