Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2026 — Huhtamaki India has welcomed back Ruturaj Kamthekar as Vice President – Sales and Marketing, where he will lead the commercial function and manage the P&L for the company’s India business. Sharing his perspective on the move, Ruturaj said he is excited to be back in Huhtamaki India after an eight-year stint in global roles, and that he is proud to lead the commercial function for India’s foremost and pioneering flexible packaging company.
In his role at Huhtamaki India, Ruturaj Kamthekar is responsible for leading the commercial strategy and P&L, driving profitable growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and accelerating market expansion in the flexible packaging space. His return marks a continuation of a long-standing journey within the Huhtamaki ecosystem, bringing together deep operational experience, innovation leadership, and global business development exposure.
Before taking on this India commercial leadership mandate, Ruturaj Kamthekar was associated with Huhtamaki in a global capacity, leading Strategic Business Development, Marketing and Product Sustainability with a focus on growth opportunities in global key accounts, global marketing priorities across key regions and product categories, and alignment of sustainability actions with evolving global legislations and D4R guidelines.
Earlier, he led Innovation & Technical responsibilities for Global Key Accounts, Flexible Packaging, where he handled innovation, sustainability and technical needs, led a team of technical key account managers, drove global projects, and managed senior-level stakeholder engagement across customer organisations.
He also contributed as Product Development Director – Huhtamaki Flexible Packaging, driving product development and innovation processes across multiple business units across Europe, Middle East Africa, India and South East Asia, while championing the deployment of product sustainability strategy and leading development of sustainable and recyclable laminates for commercial deployment, alongside intellectual property and innovation protection initiatives.
Before moving into global responsibilities, Ruturaj Kamthekar worked with Huhtamaki PPL Ltd as Dy. General Manager – Innovations & Business Development, driving innovation and business development to create new products and packaging solutions, and building new business development initiatives across advanced product formats such as thermoforms, preformed pouches, and CI flexography.
Earlier, he served as Senior Manager – Production, Silvassa Plant, where he was operations head for the company’s largest plant at Silvassa and led shop-floor management for flexible packaging manufacturing with a team of more than 300 people, building strong execution discipline and operational leadership foundations.
His earlier journey includes long-term experience with The Paper Products Ltd, where he held responsibilities across special projects and specialised pouching and packaging technologies, contributing to the development of key technologies including specialised preformed pouches, retort pouches, and vacuum packaging bags.
