Gurgaon, Haryana ,India, April 2026 — Amit Kumar Giri has been appointed as Partner at PwC India, marking a significant milestone in his consulting and transformation leadership journey. This appointment reflects his growing influence in AI-enabled transformation, digital strategy, and industrial sector consulting, and positions him to contribute at a higher strategic level within the organization.
Before being appointed Partner at PwC India, Amit Kumar Giri served as Managing Director at PwC, where he led a portfolio of large transformations enabled by AI and digital across the metals, mining, cement, power generation, and chemicals industries. In this role, he worked closely on transformation-led growth initiatives, helping drive innovation and strategic change across complex industrial environments.
Prior to joining PwC, he spent more than eight years with Accenture, where he held the roles of Senior Principal, Engagement Manager, and Management Consultant, Accenture Strategy. During this period, he worked extensively on digital transformation, operational excellence, corporate strategy, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. His work included designing end-to-end digital strategies and implementation roadmaps for a global steel and mining company, realizing major savings through digital initiatives in operations and supply chain, improving EBITDA and production processes for a leading paper and pulp company, and helping global organizations enhance quality management, vendor strategies, and digital manufacturing systems.
Earlier in his career, Amit Kumar Giri spent nearly six years at Tata Steel in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, where he served as Senior Manager Operations and Manager Operations. In these roles, he gained deep operational experience across manufacturing operations, supply chain management, asset management, project management, and TQM. He was responsible for slab casting and rolling operations in the flat product division and was part of the team that achieved the Deming Grand Prize in 2012. His experience at Tata Steel laid a strong industrial and operational foundation for his later consulting career.
He is also academically accomplished, having completed his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Operations & Marketing from the Indian School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. This combination of engineering, operations, and business education has supported his ability to work across both shop-floor transformation and boardroom strategy.
With leadership experience spanning PwC India, PwC, Accenture, and Tata Steel, Amit Kumar Giri brings a strong blend of industrial expertise, strategic consulting capability, digital transformation leadership, and operational excellence.
