Cummings has taken on a new role as National Human Capital Advisory Managing Partner at Sorren, marking a significant milestone in her accomplished career in human resources and advisory leadership. In this role, she will lead Sorren’s human capital advisory practice, helping organizations strengthen people strategies, enhance employee experience, and drive sustainable business performance.
Prior to joining Sorren, Julie B. Cummings served as Managing Director, Audit & Assurance, Head of People at KPMG (US), where she led people strategy initiatives, aligning HR practices with business transformation and organizational growth priorities.
Earlier, she founded Vision Consulting, LLC, where she partnered with HR and organizational leaders to design and implement tailored people strategies, focusing on employee experience, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
Before that, she held the role of Managing Director & Chief Human Resources Officer at FORVIS (formerly BKD, LLP) and spent over a decade as Managing Director & CHRO at BKD CPAs & Advisors, where she led enterprise-wide HR transformation. During this period, she was responsible for talent strategy, compensation and benefits, organizational development, M&A integration, performance management, and culture-building initiatives, supporting large-scale business growth.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at Metropolitan National Bank, Ozarks Coca-Cola Dr Pepper, and Schreiber Foods, building strong expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and organizational development.
Julie B. Cummings holds an MBA in Organization Development and Human Resources from Missouri State University, equipping her with a strong foundation in strategic HR leadership and organizational transformation.
