Foster City, California, United States, April 2026 — Gilead Sciences has appointed Bill Stott as Vice President, Human Resources – Corporate Functions and Global Talent Acquisition, reinforcing its leadership focus on building a future-ready global workforce to support its innovation-driven healthcare mission.
In this expanded leadership role, Bill will oversee global talent acquisition strategy and HR leadership for corporate functions, driving initiatives across workforce planning, leadership capability, talent mobility, and organizational transformation to enable Gilead’s continued growth in biopharmaceutical innovation.
Bill brings over two decades of global HR leadership experience across the life sciences sector. He has been with Gilead Sciences for nearly six years, most recently serving as Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition, where he led enterprise-wide hiring strategy, enabling the organization to attract top global talent across critical scientific, commercial, and corporate roles.
Prior to joining Gilead, Bill spent close to 17 years at Amgen, where he held multiple senior HR leadership roles across global geographies. As Executive Director and Head of Human Resources for Global Manufacturing, he led HR for a workforce of approximately 3,000 employees across major manufacturing sites in the United States, Europe, and Asia, driving talent strategy, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness at scale.
Earlier at Amgen, he served as Executive Director, Human Resources – Transformation Office, where he led large-scale global transformation initiatives and built organizational capability for enterprise change. He also headed Global Talent Acquisition & Mobility, managing hiring for thousands of roles worldwide during key product launches and global expansion phases.
His international experience includes leading HR for Central and Eastern Europe, overseeing operations across eight countries, as well as partnering with global commercial and R&D organizations to drive talent and business alignment.
Bill began his HR leadership journey with roles at Cornerstone Brands Inc. and The Territory Ahead, where he developed foundational expertise in HR strategy, talent management, and organizational leadership.
Across his career, Bill has demonstrated a strong ability to scale talent systems, lead global teams, and align HR strategy with business transformation in highly regulated and innovation-led environments.
Bill holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Organizational Behavior Studies from California Lutheran University.
