Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Credit Saison India has welcomed Prateek Agrawal as SVP & Head, SME Risk, where he will lead risk across the company’s secured and unsecured SME verticals. In this role, he is expected to focus on building a risk-aware culture by integrating adaptive technology and data-driven prioritization, helping strengthen resilience across the SME landscape and support the company’s long-term growth ambitions.
Before joining Credit Saison India, Prateek Agrawal built a long and progressive risk leadership career at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he spent more than eight years across multiple senior roles. Most recently, he served as Risk Head – Loan Against Property and Business & Professional Loans. Prior to that, he held the positions of Risk Head – Vehicle Loans and Micro Business Loans & Inventory Funding and Risk Head – Vehicle Loans. These roles reflect deep expertise across lending risk, portfolio strategy, and policy leadership in retail and business lending segments.
Earlier, he worked at L&T Finance as Team Manager – Credit Policy, where he contributed to credit policy management and risk-related decision frameworks. Before that, he served at Axis Bank in roles including Credit Policy Manager – Rural Lending & Microfinance and Credit Policy Manager – Car Loans, further strengthening his experience across policy formulation and credit risk in varied lending environments.
A major phase of his earlier career was built at ICICI Bank, where he spent over seven years in multiple credit and risk roles. These included Regional Credit Manager, Deputy Product Risk Head, and Area Credit Manager. Across these assignments, he handled credit underwriting, portfolio risk management, policy formulation, and regional credit responsibilities across products such as personal loans and two-wheeler loans. This phase laid a strong foundation for the senior risk leadership roles that followed.
He began his earlier professional journey as Accounts Officer at Mayar India Limited, adding an initial finance and controls perspective to a career that would later become deeply rooted in lending and risk management. Taken together, his journey reflects strong and sustained experience across SME risk, credit risk, policy formulation, underwriting, portfolio management, and lending strategy.
With this background, Prateek Agrawal brings to Credit Saison India a well-rounded and deeply experienced risk leadership profile. His appointment comes at a time when technology-led underwriting, resilient risk frameworks, and disciplined portfolio management are becoming increasingly important in supporting scalable SME lending.
