San Francisco, California, United States, April 2026 — LinkedIn has appointed Daniel Shapero as its Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Ryan Roslansky with immediate effect. The leadership transition comes as the Microsoft-owned professional networking platform sharpens its strategic focus on artificial intelligence-led growth and strengthens its position at the center of an evolving, AI-driven professional ecosystem.
A long-time LinkedIn leader who joined the company in 2008 as one of its early employees, Shapero’s elevation reflects leadership continuity and deep institutional knowledge, at a time when the platform is navigating rapid technological transformation and expanding its role in shaping global economic opportunity.
In his announcement, Shapero reflected on his journey, stating that his time at LinkedIn has been “one of the most meaningful experiences” of his life, shaped by the company’s mission, culture, and impact on creating economic opportunity worldwide. He emphasized the growing importance of LinkedIn’s role as professionals adapt to an AI-driven world and reaffirmed his commitment to listening, learning, and engaging with members, customers, and employees as he steps into the CEO role.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Daniel Shapero served as Chief Operating Officer at LinkedIn, where he led product, sales, marketing, operations, pricing, and customer success functions, playing a central role in scaling the platform’s global business.
Earlier, he held the position of Chief Business Officer (SVP), focusing on helping organizations harness LinkedIn’s capabilities to drive business outcomes. Before that, as Vice President – Product, he led the development of products powering LinkedIn’s multi-billion-dollar Talent Solutions and Learning businesses, contributing to the platform’s impact on job creation and skill development at scale.
Shapero began his journey at LinkedIn in the Global Sales organization, where he rose through multiple leadership roles, including VP Global Sales, Talent Solutions. During this period, he played a pivotal role in scaling the business from approximately $50 million to over $1.5 billion in bookings, significantly expanding LinkedIn’s enterprise footprint.
Before LinkedIn, he worked at Bain & Company, where he managed global strategy consulting engagements across technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. He also founded Collegiate Recruiting Technologies, an early internet venture focused on connecting high school athletes with college opportunities, demonstrating his entrepreneurial mindset early in his career.
With over two decades of experience spanning product, sales, strategy, and leadership, Shapero brings a unique blend of operational excellence, strategic vision, and deep platform expertise to his new role.
Founded in 2003, LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network, connecting over 1 billion members globally, including executives from every Fortune 500 company.
