Greater Delhi Area, India, April 2026 — Hindustan Power has appointed Gopalji Mehrotra as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), entrusting him with the mandate to lead the organization’s people strategy, organizational transformation, and talent agenda as it accelerates its next phase of growth.
In his new role, Gopalji will spearhead HR strategy, leadership development, and workforce transformation initiatives, playing a pivotal role in building a future-ready organization aligned with Hindustan Power’s ambitious clean energy and infrastructure expansion plans.
Prior to joining Hindustan Power, Gopalji served as Chief Human Resources Officer at ACME Group, where he played a critical role in shaping a high-performance culture and enabling large-scale transformation across renewable energy, green hydrogen, and emerging business segments. During his tenure, he led initiatives spanning organizational design, talent pipeline development, HR digitalization, and innovation frameworks, including large-scale hiring and leadership capability building.
Earlier, he was the Head of Human Resources at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), where he drove enterprise-wide HR transformation for a multi-billion-dollar refining and petrochemicals business transitioning toward integrated energy operations. His work included succession planning, leadership development, employee experience transformation, and strengthening DEI practices, significantly enhancing organizational capability and engagement.
Gopalji has also held senior leadership roles at organizations such as Astix, where he contributed to organizational consulting and leadership capability development, and Ashok Leyland, where he led HR for a large-scale manufacturing business, focusing on organizational restructuring, talent retention, and industrial relations.
His earlier leadership journey includes impactful roles at Mylan, where he served as CHRO for Asia and Africa, driving global talent integration and expansion strategies, and Zensar Technologies, where he led global HR transformation and workforce scaling initiatives. He also held global HR leadership roles at Kennametal and began his career with ITC Limited, building a strong foundation in HR strategy, industrial relations, and large-scale organizational change.
With over three decades of experience, Gopalji brings deep expertise in HR transformation, talent strategy, leadership development, and managing complex, global organizations, positioning him strongly to lead Hindustan Power’s people agenda.
