Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, August 2026 — Yvette Smetana has stepped into a new role as Senior Vice President, HR Strategy, Planning & Insights at Comcast, continuing a career with the company that spans nearly two decades. In her new position, she leads HR strategy, planning and insights, connecting business strategy, organisational priorities and workforce decisions across the enterprise.
In this role, Smetana partners with HR, Finance, Technology and business leaders to advance strategic workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, operating model design and workforce intelligence. Her remit focuses on translating strategy into execution through data-driven workforce planning, organisational design and AI-enabled decision support, helping align talent, organisational structure and investment with business priorities.
Prior to this appointment, Smetana served as Senior Vice President, IS Solutions at Comcast, where she led teams supporting go-to-market, pricing and packaging, billing strategies, customer experience and workforce experience. Before that, she was Senior Vice President, HR Technology & Service Solutions, responsible for HR service delivery, technology, organisational acceleration and integration services. During this period, she played a key leadership role in the migration to Workday across approximately 85,000 Comcast Cable employees, encompassing HR and payroll modules and broader process transformation.
Her earlier Comcast leadership roles included Vice President, HR Technology & Service Solutions; Vice President, Business Process Excellence; Executive Director, Business Process Excellence; and Senior Director, Organizational Capability. Across these positions, she led initiatives spanning HR transformation, workforce analytics, human capital metrics, organisational design, shared services, change management and employee service delivery. Smetana originally worked at Comcast from 2001 to 2004 in several HR positions before joining Novartis as Global Head, Organization Effectiveness, returning to Comcast in 2007.
With experience spanning HR strategy, technology, organisational effectiveness, workforce analytics, transformation and business operations, Smetana brings a broad combination of people and enterprise leadership capabilities to her latest position as Comcast focuses on building a workforce prepared for evolving business needs.
