Nairobi, Kenya, August 2026 — Julliet Waita has been appointed Head of HR – Kenya & Anglophone Countries at Sun Pharma, taking on responsibility for the company’s human resources function across Kenya and its Anglophone markets. The appointment marks a significant progression in her HR career and brings her experience across talent management, people operations and workplace practices to the global pharmaceutical company.
Prior to joining Sun Pharma, Waita served as Human Resource Manager at Shalina Healthcare, a position she held for more than four years from July 2022 to August 2026. During her tenure, she developed experience across human resources management and talent management within the healthcare sector, providing a strong foundation for her new regional HR leadership responsibilities.
Earlier, Waita spent nearly six years with Hotpoint Appliances Ltd, where she progressed through multiple roles. She served as Human Resources Officer from 2018 to 2022, after previously working as Health Safety Environment Coordinator. Her journey with the company began in 2016 as a Human Resources Intern, followed by a position as Human Resources Trainee, reflecting a steady progression through increasingly responsible people-focused roles.
Her career trajectory spans HR operations, talent management, workplace health and safety, and people management. The transition to Sun Pharma expands her leadership remit across multiple markets and places her in a role supporting the organisation’s people priorities across Kenya and Anglophone countries.
With experience spanning the healthcare and consumer appliances sectors, Waita brings a combination of sector knowledge and progressive HR leadership experience to Sun Pharma as the company continues to develop its workforce and operations across its markets.
