Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2026 — Tata Motors has appointed D P Nambiar as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective May 29, 2026, strengthening its leadership team as the automotive giant accelerates workforce transformation amid rapid shifts in electric mobility, digital innovation, and future mobility solutions.
A seasoned Tata Group HR leader, Nambiar succeeds Sitaram Kandi and brings more than three decades of extensive human resources leadership experience from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Before this appointment, D P Nambiar served as Vice President and Head of HR – Geographies & Corporate Functions at TCS, where he led strategic HR initiatives across global geographies and enterprise functions. Prior to that, he held key leadership roles including Vice President and Global Head of HR – Service Lines & Corporate Functions, Head – Business HR, Director HR – Continental Europe, Global Head – Talent Acquisition, and Head, Staffing – North America Operations.
Across his 30+ year career at TCS, Nambiar has built deep expertise in global talent strategy, workforce transformation, talent acquisition, business HR leadership, organizational capability building, and strategic people management.
His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Tata Motors, as the company sharpens its focus on digital capability building, workforce agility, software-led transformation, and electrification. Nambiar is expected to play a critical role in aligning Tata Motors’ talent strategy with long-term business priorities while building organizational resilience and future-ready workforce capabilities.
