Hyderabad, Telangana, India, June 2026 – Cyient has announced the appointment of Baskar Nagarajan as Senior Vice President & Global Head of Avionics Delivery, reinforcing the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its leadership position in aerospace and avionics engineering services.
As next-generation aircraft increasingly require connected, cyber-resilient, interoperable, software-defined, and intelligent avionics systems, Cyient is investing in leadership capable of delivering complex, safety-critical solutions at scale. Baskar’s appointment brings nearly three decades of experience in aerospace engineering, avionics systems, embedded technologies, certification, and global engineering delivery.
In his new role, Baskar will lead Cyient’s global avionics delivery organization, driving engineering excellence, customer engagement, innovation, and scalable delivery capabilities across the company’s aerospace portfolio. His expertise spans avionics, embedded systems, sensors, electronic controllers, human-machine interfaces (HMI), and airworthiness certification across multiple aircraft platforms.
Career Journey
Before joining Cyient, Baskar served as Head of Engineering – Rolling Stock and Components (RSC), India Cluster at Alstom, where he led a team of more than 3,000 professionals responsible for rolling stock, components, signaling, software, traction systems, electrical systems, braking technologies, and program management. Under his leadership, the India engineering cluster supported transportation projects across India, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States while contributing to Alstom’s global sustainable mobility vision.
Prior to Alstom, he worked as a Technical Consultant with RagaAI, advising founders and senior executives on AI product strategy, governance frameworks, commercialization models, and go-to-market execution. During this period, he actively contributed to discussions around trustworthy AI, AI governance, and large language model applications across industries including aerospace, healthcare, and financial services.
Baskar spent nearly eight years in senior engineering leadership roles at Honeywell, where he served as Vice President of Engineering (Global) and Senior Director – Head of Global Engineering across Aerospace, Building Technologies, Industrial Safety, Sensors, RFID, Healthcare, and Automation businesses. He led large-scale global engineering organizations spanning multiple countries and drove product certification, program management, automation, testing, and quality assurance initiatives across highly regulated industries.
His most significant contributions came through Honeywell’s aerospace business, where he held leadership positions including Senior Director – Global Aerospace Engineering, Director of Engineering – Flight Systems, and Director of Engineering – Electronic Controllers & Power Systems. During this period, he led engineering programs supporting major aircraft platforms including Airbus A350, A380, Boeing 777, Gulfstream, Embraer, and other global aerospace programs. He was instrumental in building Honeywell’s worldwide aerospace verification and validation organization and driving innovation in certification, simulation, and automation.
Earlier in his career, Baskar held engineering and systems leadership roles with Honeywell, BAeHAL Software Ltd, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). At HAL, he contributed to aircraft research and development initiatives including flight test instrumentation, telemetry systems, sensor calibration, and ground support systems associated with India’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program.
Throughout his career, Baskar has built a reputation for scaling global engineering organizations, delivering complex aerospace programs, developing high-performance teams, and driving innovation in safety-critical systems, making him exceptionally well-positioned to lead Cyient’s global avionics growth strategy.
