Ben joins Northland Power after more than four years with Scotiabank, where he most recently served as Head of Human Resources, Retail Branch Network & Business Banking. In this role, he provided strategic HR leadership for the bank’s national retail branch network of approximately 12,000 employees, partnering with senior executives on talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, culture, leadership, workforce planning, and performance. Prior to leading the retail network, he also headed HR for Scotiabank’s enterprise Data, Advanced Analytics and AI organization, supporting one of the bank’s most strategic transformation functions.

Before joining Scotiabank, Ben spent over seven years at Rogers Communications, holding several progressive HR leadership positions. As Senior Human Resources Business Partner, he partnered with the Data Analytics and Brand organizations, leading strategic initiatives across organizational design, workforce planning, recruitment, learning, employee relations, and talent management. Earlier, as Leader, Learning and Development, he developed enterprise learning strategies for Rogers’ B2B Sales organization, delivering transformational capability-building initiatives that enhanced both business performance and employee engagement. He also established the company’s Executive Recruitment Practice as Executive Talent Acquisition Consultant, building executive talent pipelines and strengthening succession readiness across the organization.

Earlier in his career, Ben served as Leader, Executive Search at Michael Page, where he led the Professional Services Executive Practice, expanding new markets and developing strategic client relationships. Before transitioning into human resources and executive leadership, he served with distinction as a Firefighter in the Royal Air Force (RAF), including deployments in the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, and Cyprus. He began his professional career as an Investment Analyst at Barclays, building a strong foundation in financial analysis and commercial strategy.

With nearly two decades of diverse leadership experience spanning talent management, executive recruitment, organizational development, leadership development, workforce strategy, employee experience, learning, culture transformation, and business partnering, Ben Hall brings a unique combination of commercial acumen and people leadership to Northland Power as the organization continues its global expansion in renewable energy.

Commenting on his appointment, Ben shared:

“Northland sits at the forefront of the renewable energy transition — an industry-leading, innovative organization powering the shift to a cleaner future. To join a company driving such meaningful change is a genuine privilege.”
