With more than three decades of leadership experience in India’s steel industry, Amarendu Prakash is widely recognized for driving large-scale manufacturing excellence, business transformation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. His appointment marks an important milestone for Hindustan Zinc as the company advances into its next phase of growth, supported by a strong Q1 FY27 performance and an unwavering focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

Prior to joining Hindustan Zinc, Amarendu Prakash served as Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), where he led one of India’s largest steel producers through a period of strategic transformation and operational improvement.
