Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2025 – Abdul Gaffar has joined J M Baxi Group as Vice President – Human Resources, bringing with him over two decades of progressive HR leadership across manufacturing, logistics, insurance, and infrastructure sectors. In his new role, he will lead the HR function across the group’s Ports & Logistics, Marine Services, and Technology verticals, ensuring robust talent management, compliance, and strategic alignment of people processes with business goals.
Prior to this appointment, Abdul Gaffar served as Head HR – Operations & Compliance at Pidilite Industries Limited for nearly seven years. There, he oversaw end-to-end HR operations for over 9500 employees and was instrumental in implementing PeopleStrong HRMS, standardizing payroll and compliance across subsidiaries, and leading manpower rationalization and cost optimization initiatives.
Before Pidilite, he worked for over seven years with Reliance Industries Limited, serving as Head HR Operations – Services Group and Senior HR Business Partner. In this capacity, he led policy formulation, compensation design, audit compliance, and life cycle management for over 6000 employees across multiple business units.
His earlier HR leadership journey includes an eight-year tenure at Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance, where he served as Deputy Chief Manager – Human Resources. He was a key contributor to Oracle HRMS implementation, payroll management, and lifecycle HR operations across zones.
He began his career with Associates India Financial Services Ltd., a Citigroup company, further strengthening his foundation in corporate HR practices and systems.
