Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 — Aon has announced the appointment of Abizar Bohra as Head – Sports, Leisure & Entertainment, where he will lead the firm’s strategic initiatives across India’s evolving sports and entertainment ecosystem. In this leadership role, Abizar will oversee the development of specialized insurance and risk advisory solutions for broadcasters, franchises, production companies, and ticketing partners, further expanding Aon’s footprint in this high-growth domain.
With over 15 years of industry experience, Abizar has been instrumental in designing innovative insurance frameworks and risk management models for major events and international partnerships. He has worked extensively across sports, entertainment, and media segments, bringing deep expertise in client engagement, policy structuring, and contingency risk management.
Before this appointment, Abizar served as Executive Vice President at Aon Risk Insurance Brokers India Pvt Ltd (formerly GIB, an Aon company), where he strengthened business operations and enhanced market positioning across sports and entertainment sectors. His previous tenure as Senior Vice President at Aon saw him lead projects for prestigious global events such as the France Olympics and international sports leagues, while also managing key partnerships in the UK, South Africa, and UAE.
Earlier in his career, Abizar served as Vice President at Global Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., where he specialized in financial lines and contingency risk. Over a five-year tenure, he rose from Senior Manager to Associate Vice President, driving new business opportunities and expanding client portfolios across India’s corporate and sports insurance segments.
He began his professional journey at Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited, where he handled large corporate and mid-market sales in Maharashtra. His early experiences in agency sales, corporate broking, and customer relationship management laid a strong foundation for his later leadership roles.
Abizar’s return to Aon underscores his commitment to advancing innovation at the intersection of insurance, entertainment, and sports management, and strengthening the company’s leadership in niche, experience-driven insurance solutions.
