Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, August 2024 – Avinash Gupta has been appointed as the Head of Learning & Development (L&D) and Talent Management at Adani Cement. In this role, Avinash will be responsible for driving the company’s L&D initiatives, fostering talent growth, and aligning the organization’s workforce development strategies with its broader business objectives.
Avinash brings extensive experience to Adani Cement, having previously served as Director of Learning and Development at Ola Electric for approximately 3 years. During his tenure, he established Ola Electric’s L&D department, implemented a comprehensive Learning and Talent Framework, and significantly reduced new hire attrition. He also led key initiatives in reskilling and upskilling employees, driving digital transformation, and enhancing diversity and inclusion programs.
Prior to his role at Ola Electric, Avinash held the position of Head of Training at Ashok Leyland for over 8 years. At Ashok Leyland, he led the development of customized training programs across various departments, contributing to significant sales growth and enhancing internal training capabilities. His efforts were crucial in the successful transition to BS6 standards, and he played a key role in launching the AL Academy and the startup Service Mandi during the pandemic.
Earlier, Avinash was the Training Lead (Passenger Cars Business Unit) at Tata Motors for approximately 2 years. In this role, he led the adoption of 6D principles in training, developed various programs to enhance operational excellence, and played a significant role in establishing Tata Motors Ltd. University. His work included launching initiatives such as ITEACH and Saksham & Service Edge+ programs to improve sales training and integrate subject matter experts into L&D efforts.
Avinash’s earlier career includes impactful roles at Maruti Suzuki as Manager – Sales Training and Field Sales Development for over 4 years. He also worked at Bajaj Auto Ltd as Area Manager – Corporate Sales for nearly 1.5 years, and began his career as a Management Trainee at GRASIM Industries (Aditya Birla Group), where he gained valuable experience over approximately 3.5 years. In these roles, Avinash consistently demonstrated excellence in sales training, corporate relationship management, and talent development, contributing to significant business outcomes and employee engagement across various organizations.
