In his new role, Akshay Rakshit is leading the transformation of Hyundai’s talent landscape, encompassing strategic hiring, employer branding, young talent development, policy innovation, talent mapping, and HR transformation. He is responsible for crafting and executing a forward-looking talent acquisition strategy aligned with Hyundai’s future business priorities, focusing on attracting the right capabilities, strengthening external talent brand, and delivering superior candidate experiences.

A core focus area for Akshay is the development of young talent programs, driving early careers planning, rotational programs, and strong campus partnerships to ensure Hyundai builds a future-ready talent pipeline. He also spearheads policy transformation initiatives to ensure agility, inclusiveness, and competitiveness in Hyundai’s HR framework.

Before joining Hyundai, Akshay Rakshit served for over three years at BMW Group India as Human Resource Business Partner, where he worked closely with the CEO and CHRO, steering HR priorities across performance, compensation, leadership development, employee engagement, and long-term talent planning in collaboration with APAC teams in Singapore.

Earlier, he spent over four years at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, initially as Deputy Manager – Industrial Relations at the Manesar plant and later promoted to Manager – Central HR. At Maruti Suzuki, he managed IR issues for a workforce of over 3,000 employees, led HR audits, business continuity planning, and was a key player in signing Long-Term Settlement agreements, policy compliance, and employee engagement programs.

Prior to that, he worked at Honda Cars India Ltd. as Talent Acquisition & Compliance Partner, focusing on recruitment for production roles, legal compliance, and workforce integration during a critical business transition. His industrial relations and compliance acumen were critical in ensuring workforce harmony and regulatory adherence.

Akshay began his career with Exide Industries Limited, where he held multiple roles, progressing from Management Trainee – HR & ER to Assistant Manager – Employee Relations. He was recognized as a High-Potential Talent and received the Best Management Trainee Award for driving change initiatives, talent strategy, and employee engagement at the Chinchwad factory in Pune.

He also completed internships with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages in Sales HR and Grasim Industries in Human Resource Development, gaining early insights into leadership behavior and field-level engagement.
