New York, New York, August 2024 – Alfred Kohart has taken on the role of Regional Director, People & Culture at Equinox. In this position, Alfred will oversee the strategic direction and execution of HR initiatives across the region, ensuring alignment with Equinox’s overall business goals and fostering a culture of high performance and engagement.
Before joining Equinox, Alfred served as the Associate Director, HR at Ross Stores, Inc. for three years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in leading HR strategies for international product sourcing and strategy, driving organizational effectiveness, and optimizing talent management processes.
Prior to that, Alfred held multiple roles at American Eagle Outfitters Inc. over a period of four years. He began as a Human Resources Business Partner before being promoted to Sr. Human Resources Business Partner. His work focused on supporting global production, sourcing, and emerging brands, where he contributed to talent development and employee engagement across the organization.
Earlier in his career, Alfred worked at Macy’s for nearly three years, where he served as the HR Manager, Associate Development and Special Projects and later as the Human Resources Manager – Herald Square. In these roles, he led associate development programs and managed HR operations at Macy’s flagship location, enhancing employee relations and development.
Alfred’s HR journey began at Foot Locker and NYU Winthrop Hospital, where he gained valuable experience as an Employee Relations Specialist and Employee Relations Representative respectively.
