Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 – RBL Bank has announced the appointment of Aliasgar Karachiwala as Head – Digital, Channels and Experience, marking a significant step in the bank’s ongoing digital transformation journey. With over two decades of expertise across digital banking, automation, and process innovation, Aliasgar will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing customer engagement, improving operational efficiency, and accelerating digital adoption across all platforms.
Aliasgar has been an integral part of RBL Bank for over six years, previously serving as EVP and Head – Applications and Automation. In this role, he spearheaded multiple large-scale transformation projects including the establishment of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) for AI, RPA, Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) platforms, and Testing Automation. Under his leadership, the bank successfully digitized over 270 processes, implemented CRM and KYC platforms, redesigned its website and customer journeys, and launched DIY onboarding and service journeys. His initiatives delivered measurable outcomes, including annual cost savings exceeding INR 600 million, improved NPS and CSAT scores, and significant efficiency gains across digital channels.
Before joining RBL Bank, Aliasgar served as SVP II and Head – Business and Technology Solutions Group at AU Small Finance Bank, where he was instrumental in creating and managing the bank’s digital properties, including mobile and internet banking, WhatsApp and chatbot solutions, and gamified sales programs. He also led the flagship AU Abhi Digital Program, which became a cornerstone of the bank’s customer experience strategy.
Prior to this, Aliasgar spent over five years at Axis Bank as Vice President and Head – Projects and Business Solutions Group, driving the implementation of CRM systems, sales mobility solutions, kiosk-based banking, and digital journeys integrated with partner ecosystems. His earlier tenure at Kotak Mahindra Bank as Vice President and Head – Business Solutions Group (Assets and Cards) involved leading key technology projects such as Loan Origination and Servicing Systems, Credit Card Platforms, and Core Banking Integrations, establishing his credentials in large-scale digital program execution.
His career also includes impactful roles at Oracle Financial Services Software, ABN AMRO Central Enterprise Services, and e-Serve International (Citibank Subsidiary), where he developed deep expertise in digital systems, cash management, and financial process automation. Aliasgar holds an MBA in Finance from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.
