Ambalika Roy Appointed as Director & Chief Business Officer at BankU India Limited

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 – Ambalika Roy has been appointed as Director & Chief Business Officer at BankU India Limited, bringing more than 15 years of deep expertise in payment ecosystems, banking alliances, digital financial services, and fintech partnerships. Her appointment marks a significant leadership advancement for BankU India as the organisation accelerates its mission to strengthen digital infrastructure and expand financial inclusion across the country.

In her most recent role as Vice President – Banking Alliances & Partnership at Phi Commerce, Ambalika played a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships with banks and non-banking partners, driving banking sales, solutioning, fintech relationships, revenue targets, and commercial alliances with acquiring banks. Her experience at Phi Commerce further expanded her leadership in ecosystem-building across India’s fast-growing payments landscape.

Before Phi Commerce, she spent over five years at PayU in Banking Alliances & Strategic Partnerships, managing PSU, cooperative, regional, MNC and private banks, leading omnichannel and BBPS partnerships, driving GMV across verticals, and enabling banks’ participation in government tenders. Her contributions included strengthening bank relationships, enabling TSP penetration and leading strategic initiatives that enhanced the reach and impact of PayU’s product ecosystem across India.

Prior to PayU, Ambalika held senior roles at TWID as VP – Head of Banking & Partnership Alliances, where she expanded the loyalty ecosystem for banks and elevated consumer experiences in reward-based payments. She also served as Director – Banking Alliance at Razorpay, contributing to growth across banking partnerships and digital payment innovations during the company’s rapid scale-up phase. Her early career includes impactful roles at ING Vysya Bank, Times Business Solution, AXA Business Services, Ascon Marketing, Dell, Infosys, and Global Vantedge, establishing strong foundations in client management, alliances, operations and customer experience.
