Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, September 2025 – Amitkumar Sharma has taken on the role of Vice President – Human Resources (Operations & R&D) at Amneal Pharmaceuticals, marking a significant step in his career within the pharmaceutical sector. In this newly appointed position, he will lead the human resources function across operations and R&D divisions, further strengthening Amneal’s commitment to talent leadership and organizational excellence.
Prior to joining Amneal, Amitkumar Sharma served for over seven years at Intas Pharmaceuticals, most recently as Associate Vice President – HR. In this role, he was part of the HR leadership team and was responsible for driving key HR initiatives across formulation manufacturing clusters, API plants, and R&D centers. His earlier tenure at Intas included a significant period as Senior General Manager – HR, where he was engaged in leading HR and administrative functions at strategic manufacturing sites.
Before his time at Intas, Amitkumar spent over two years at Sun Pharma as General Manager – HR. He held a leadership role overseeing HR and administration at one of the company’s major formulation manufacturing sites in Halol. His responsibilities included managing organizational processes and contributing to key HR strategies.
Previously, he worked with Zydus Cadila (Cadila Healthcare Ltd.) for close to seven years in various HR leadership capacities. During his time there, he supported multiple verticals including API, formulation manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, while also contributing to greenfield expansion projects. His responsibilities spanned across strategic HR initiatives and employee relations.
Earlier in his career, Amitkumar held multiple roles at Anil Group of Companies, where he progressed from an HR Officer to Deputy General Manager – HR & Administration over a period of seven years. His broad exposure in managing HR, industrial relations, and administration across group companies laid the foundation for his future leadership roles.
Amitkumar is currently pursuing his PGDM (HRM) under the Emerging CHROs program at XLRI Jamshedpur, and he holds an MBA in Marketing from B.K. School of Professional and Management Studies.
