London, England, United Kingdom, April 2026 — Ankura has announced the appointment of Ben Johnson as Senior Managing Director in its global Risk Advisory practice, based in London. A highly regarded forensic accountant, Ben brings over 25 years of experience advising clients on complex matters involving fraud, financial misstatement, financial crime, and bribery and corruption.
Recognized as a Band 1 expert by Chambers & Partners and a Global Elite Thought Leader, Ben has led major investigations worldwide for regulators, enforcement agencies, and private clients. He is widely known for his role as an expert witness in international arbitration, courts, and regulatory proceedings, and has worked across multiple sectors, including high-profile sports disputes. His appointment strengthens Ankura’s capabilities in handling high-stakes disputes and regulatory investigations globally.
Prior to joining Ankura, Ben served as Managing Director at Berkeley Research Group LLC, where he spent approximately a decade leading forensic accounting assignments within the Global Investigations and Strategic Intelligence team. In this role, he worked closely with regulators, corporates, and law firms on complex investigations and dispute matters.
Earlier, he held a leadership position at AlixPartners as Director in Financial Advisory Services, where he specialized in corporate and regulatory investigations, fraud detection, financial misstatement, and matters related to bribery and corruption.
Ben also spent over eight years at FTI Consulting as Managing Director in the Forensic and Litigation Consulting division, where he led global forensic accounting engagements and built deep expertise in litigation support and financial investigations.
He began his career in forensic accounting at KPMG Forensic as a Consultant, working on high-impact assignments including tracing assets related to large-scale fraud cases and supporting complex investigative projects. He also gained early experience as an Auditor at Woolworths Limited, conducting strategic audits across Australia and Asia.
In addition to his corporate roles, Ben has been actively associated with The Academy of Experts, where he has served as Past Chair, contributing to the advancement of expert witness standards and practices.
