Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, March 2026 — Amneal Pharmaceuticals has appointed Gireesh Kalal as Assistant General Manager, Projects & Engineering. In his new role, Kalal will support the company’s projects and engineering agenda at its Ahmedabad operations, bringing deep expertise in instrumentation, automation, and greenfield project execution within regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Kalal steps into the position with extensive experience across engineering leadership roles, particularly in instrumentation-led project delivery and plant automation aligned with compliance requirements. At Amneal, he is associated with greenfield project responsibilities and instrumentation leadership, with exposure spanning OSD, injectables, and API environments, along with maintenance and automation initiatives including 21 CFR-focused projects.
Prior to this move, Kalal spent over 15 years with Intas Pharmaceuticals, progressing through multiple engineering leadership roles. He served as Assistant General Manager (April 2025 to March 2026), following his tenure as Senior Manager – Engineering (April 2022 to May 2025) and Manager – Engineering (April 2019 to March 2022), based in Ahmedabad. Across these roles, he contributed to engineering operations, project execution, and plant capability strengthening in large-scale pharma manufacturing settings.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Zydus Group, beginning as a Management Trainee (August 2007 to August 2008) and moving into the role of Engineering Officer (August 2008 to February 2011), building a strong foundation in pharmaceutical engineering and plant systems.
