Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, September 2025 – Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH has announced the appointment of Anabel Fall as its new Group Chief People Officer, effective September 24, 2025. In her new role, Anabel will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s ongoing transformation efforts and the implementation of its new corporate strategy. Her international experience and leadership in HR strategy, talent development, and organizational change are expected to bring renewed momentum to Haniel’s people agenda.
Anabel Fall most recently served as Chief People Officer and Member of the Group Executive Committee (GEX) at the Zühlke Group, where she spent over two years based in Zurich. At Zühlke, she led global people initiatives focused on leadership development, executive management, talent acquisition, and learning and development, significantly enhancing the company’s HR capabilities across its international footprint.
Before joining Zühlke, Anabel spent over four years with Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, where she held several senior HR roles, including Group Head of People Innovation and Transformation, Global Head of Performance and Incentive Architecture, and Group Head of Talent Management. Her leadership contributed to the global rollout of transformative HR frameworks, performance systems, and people development programs that fostered a culture of innovation and agility.
Previously, Anabel served as Head of Talent Management at Majid Al Futtaim in Dubai for over three years, where she played a key role in designing enterprise-wide talent strategies and advancing employer branding and employee engagement across a diversified portfolio of businesses in the MENA region.
Anabel’s career began at McKinsey & Company, where she spent over 15 years. She rose through the ranks from Engagement Manager to MEO Director of CSS Personnel, overseeing all people functions—from recruitment to leadership development—in EMEA. She also served as Acting Director of Sustainability, helping McKinsey design and roll out internal programs focused on corporate responsibility, inclusion, and long-term organizational resilience.
She has also held academic and research roles at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she taught courses in management and marketing, and at CNRS in Paris, where she contributed to EU-funded research on corporate governance across Europe. Anabel holds an MSc in Management from LSE.
