Akron, Ohio, United States, December 2024 – Angela Smith has taken on the role of Director, Talent and Workforce Development at Summa Health, marking the latest chapter in her 15-year career with the organization. In this role, Angela will spearhead strategies to enhance talent acquisition, workforce development, and overall organizational growth to support Summa Health’s mission of delivering exceptional patient care.
Angela’s journey with Summa Health began in 2009 when she joined as System Director, Volunteer Services, where she managed volunteer operations across the health system. In 2021, she transitioned to the role of System Director, Workforce Development, focusing on creating innovative strategies to strengthen the talent pipeline and foster workforce engagement. Her success in these positions prepared her for her new leadership role as Director of Talent and Workforce Development.
Prior to Summa Health, Angela held roles as Manager of Volunteer Services at both Mercy Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where she gained extensive experience in volunteer management, recruitment, and workforce planning.
