In his new role, Dr. Madhu Sasidhar will be at the forefront of leading Apollo’s hospital division, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to clinical excellence and the well-being of patients. With an impressive array of board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine, Dr. Sasidhar’s extensive medical expertise is a valuable asset to Apollo.

Dr. Sasidhar’s distinguished career includes a pivotal role as President of Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, where he not only excelled in clinical practice but also contributed to medical literature, engaged in innovative technological development, and secured a patent for a medical device in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic Innovations. His academic journey spans esteemed institutions, with medical studies at JIPMER, Pondicherry, followed by advanced training at Yale University and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Additionally, Dr. Sasidhar broadened his professional scope with a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD, France.

Reflecting on Dr. Sasidhar’s appointment, Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, expressed his enthusiasm and confidence in Dr. Sasidhar’s ability to lead the hospital division toward new horizons. “Dr. Madhu’s clinical acumen, global experience, and technological know-how are crucial to Apollo’s expansion plan,” Dr. Reddy stated, highlighting the integral role Dr. Sasidhar will play in the organization’s future.

Dr. Sasidhar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Apollo Hospitals’ legacy of excellence. “I am committed to helping Apollo realize its goal of giving patients in India and worldwide greater access to top-notch medical care,” he said, underscoring his dedication to enhancing patient care and satisfaction.

The transition to Dr. Sasidhar’s leadership follows his tenure as Apollo’s Chief Strategy Officer since October 2023. The appointment coincides with the retirement of Dr. K Hari Prasad, the previous President of Apollo Hospitals, who concludes a remarkable 27-year tenure with the company. The board lauded Dr. Hari Prasad for his significant contributions to Apollo’s growth and success.
