Elsa Dalessio, Chair of the Board at Aviation Australia announced the appointment of Glenn Ryan, AM, CSC and Bar as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Glenn brings with him a wealth of experience, and a distinguished career in both commercial and military sectors. Previously, as Director General of the Australian Army’s Executive Training Authority, Glenn led the country’s largest training operation.
In her statement, Elsa Dalessio highlighted Glenn’s exceptional capabilities and leadership qualities, emphasising his integral role in steering Aviation Australia towards a new era of growth and success. His appointment comes at a transformative moment for the organisation, marked by a renewed focus on innovation and strategic advancement. “Glenn has demonstrated a remarkable track record of driving performance improvements in complex environments. His expertise in enhancing systems, processes, and teams aligns seamlessly with Aviation Australia’s commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Elsa.
Elsa also acknowledged outgoing CEO Bill Horrock’s pivotal role in Aviation Australia’s growth. Under his leadership, the company expanded its reach internationally and solidified its position as Australia’s leading aviation training provider.

Queensland Training and Skills Minister Lance McCallum MP said aviation was critically important to the Queensland economy. “Maximising the potential of the State’s growing aviation industry relies on a skilled and job-ready workforce of Queenslanders,” Mr McCallum said.
