TweetPostShareWhatsapp

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2025 — Netgroup Engineering India, the Indian arm of Sweden-based Netgroup AB, has announced the appointment of Avinash K N as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 2025. Avinash assumes this leadership position after serving as Director at Netgroup since September 2024, during which time he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operations, marketing, and business strategy in India.

With nearly two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Avinash brings deep technical expertise and strategic foresight to his new role. His appointment comes at a crucial moment as Netgroup Engineering India embarks on an ambitious five-year growth plan to scale its team from 150 to 500 professionals across Product Design, Geometry Assurance, Software, and Electronics. The Indian arm, which has already grown by 50% over the past year, plays a vital role in aligning domestic OEMs with European automotive quality and engineering standards.

Prior to Netgroup, Avinash served as Director – Projects & Business Development / Senior Technical Leader at GOTDESIGN, part of the Netgroup consortium, where he led cross-functional project execution and client engagements in India’s dynamic mobility sector. His leadership in engineering innovation helped establish a strong foundation for Netgroup’s presence in the region.

Before that, he held the role of Engineering Group Leader at Alstom, overseeing the complete train interior and cabin scope, with end-to-end responsibility across quality, delivery, cost, and function. He was instrumental in supplier development, project execution, and resource planning.

Avinash also spent over eight years at Volvo Group, where he advanced from Senior Engineer to Lead Engineer, managing the development of interior components such as instrument panels and door panels for Volvo, Renault, and Mack trucks. He handled multiple programs with full QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Function) ownership.

He began his career at Mahindra & Mahindra, where he worked across various roles over nearly seven years, contributing to the design and development of interior trims for the XUV 5OO platform. His hands-on technical experience in design engineering laid a strong foundation for his later leadership responsibilities.

Avinash holds a Master’s degree in Automotive Product Design from Coventry University, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from B.M.S. Institute of Technology, India. His appointment has been strongly endorsed by the leadership team at Netgroup Sweden—Martin Wahlgren, Niklas Bodin, Peter Edholm, and Magnus Wallin—who expressed their confidence in his ability to drive Netgroup’s innovation agenda and expansion in the Indian market.

Netgroup Engineering India

Netgroup Engineering India is a specialized engineering network company operating exclusively in the automotive sector. Closely affiliated with Netgroup AB, one of Sweden’s leading engineering consultancy firms, the Indian operations consist of four autonomous and entrepreneurial tech firms. Together, they deliver advanced services in vehicle technology with deep technical expertise across domains.

The company’s vision is to become a global champion in collaborative engineering by providing the sharpest automotive competence in the business. By leveraging Swedish precision and Indian scale, Netgroup Engineering India is enabling local OEMs to meet and exceed European automotive standards.
