Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 2026 — Boustead Holdings Berhad has appointed Badrol Izam as Group Chief People Officer, signaling a strong commitment to organizational transformation and cultural renewal as the Group advances its restructuring journey.
This strategic appointment comes at a pivotal time for Boustead, one of Malaysia’s oldest and most diversified conglomerates, as it focuses on cultural enablement, workforce transformation, and organizational alignment across its multi-sector operations.
With over 30 years of experience across manufacturing, hospitality, and energy sectors, Badrol brings deep expertise in industrial relations, talent management, and large-scale workforce leadership, positioning him to lead the Group’s people agenda with both operational depth and strategic clarity.
Prior to this role, Badrol served as Senior Director at the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), where he contributed to advancing organizational initiatives aligned with sustainability and transformation priorities.
Earlier, he held a key leadership position at Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE), part of MISC Group, as Senior General Manager – Human Resources, where he led HR strategy and operations in a complex industrial environment, driving workforce effectiveness and organizational performance.
He also served as General Manager – HR Operations at Sapura Energy Berhad, where he played a critical role in strengthening HR operations and supporting business transformation initiatives within the energy sector.
Badrol’s experience includes his tenure with TechnipFMC, where he held multiple leadership roles across Asia-Pacific, including Industrial Relations Advisor and HR Manager – Social Affairs & Industrial Relations. He also contributed to the PETRONAS RAPID Project, managing labor relations for a workforce of approximately 20,000 employees, demonstrating his ability to handle large-scale, high-complexity environments.
Earlier in his career, he held HR leadership roles at CR Bard, Penang Parkroyal Resort, and The Datai Langkawi, building a strong foundation across industries and workforce models.
A specialist in Industrial Relations and Talent Management, Badrol combines deep operational expertise with a strong understanding of organizational culture, making him well-equipped to lead Boustead’s people transformation agenda.
