Bakkt Holdings, Inc., headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, has announced Andy Main as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 26, 2024.
Main steps into the role succeeding Gavin Michael, who has decided to explore new opportunities but will continue to provide his guidance in an advisory capacity through March 2025.
Andy Main, a key figure on Bakkt’s Board of Directors since the company went public in 2021, is no stranger to the firm’s operations. Over the past year, he has played a pivotal role in mentoring and advising Bakkt’s marketing and sales teams. Main’s comprehensive understanding of the crypto landscape and his strategic vision for delivering crypto solutions to a broad client base make him an ideal leader for Bakkt’s next growth phase. His prior leadership roles include transforming Ogilvy into the world’s top creative agency and scaling Deloitte Digital into a global powerhouse.
Gavin Michael’s tenure saw significant milestones for Bakkt, including its public listing, the revamp of its institutional custody solution, securing key partnerships, and the strategic acquisition of Apex Crypto. Sean Collins, Chairman of the Board, praised Main’s visionary approach to technology commercialization and his track record as a company builder and change agent.

In line with Main’s appointment, Bakkt is rescheduling its announcement of the fourth quarter and full-year 2023 financial results to March 25, 2024.
