VICTORIA, British Columbia, March 7, 2024 – British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), a leading investment management firm, has officially announced Rechelle Effendy’s appointment as Acting Senior Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This pivotal role sees Effendy at the helm of various critical departments, including investment and corporate accounting, investment performance, finance operations, client engagement, tax, financial planning, procurement, as well as financial reporting and valuations. Effendy’s ascent within BCI has been notable, having joined the corporation in 2020 as Vice President, Finance.
This strategic shift in leadership follows Umar Malik’s transition into the private equity sector of BCI, where he will serve as Senior Managing Director, Chief of Finance. In his new capacity, Malik will guide the financial strategy and insights for the private equity group, leveraging his extensive experience in financial management.
