CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES, June 20, 2026 — Biogen has appointed Jessie Lee as Head of Commercial Learning & Development, strengthening the company’s commitment to building high-performing commercial teams, accelerating capability development, and enhancing organizational effectiveness across its global business operations.
In her new role, Lee will lead commercial learning and development initiatives across Biogen’s commercial organization, driving leadership capability, sales effectiveness, talent development, training strategy, and learning innovation to support the company’s growth ambitions and evolving portfolio of breakthrough therapies.
Lee brings more than two decades of experience spanning commercial leadership, sales excellence, talent development, training, and learning strategy within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Her appointment reflects Biogen’s focus on developing world-class capabilities that enable employees to better serve healthcare professionals, patients, and stakeholders globally.
Prior to joining Biogen, Lee served as Head of Field Learning and Development at Sanofi, where she led learning strategies and capability-building initiatives across field organizations. Earlier, she held the position of Director of Specialty Care Training – Rare Disease, where she was responsible for developing and executing training programs supporting highly specialized commercial teams operating within rare disease markets. Her work focused on strengthening sales effectiveness, product expertise, customer engagement capabilities, and leadership development.
Before Sanofi, Lee spent nearly four years with Upsher-Smith Laboratories, where she held a series of leadership roles including CNS National Sales Director, Manager – Sales Training, and Senior CNS Field Sales Trainer. During this period, she led national commercial teams, developed sales training frameworks, built management development programs, and drove strategic growth initiatives across the company’s central nervous system portfolio. Her leadership extended across sales operations, training, strategic accounts, market access collaboration, and commercial capability development.
Earlier in her career, Lee held commercial and leadership positions with Promius Pharma, Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Daiichi Sankyo, Novartis, and GlaxoSmithKline, where she built extensive expertise in oncology, rare disease, neurology, cardiovascular, and specialty care markets. Across these organizations, she consistently delivered strong business results while earning recognition for sales excellence, leadership development, coaching, and talent growth.
Throughout her career, Lee has demonstrated a unique ability to bridge commercial strategy with learning and capability development. Her experience leading both high-performing sales organizations and enterprise learning functions positions her to create impactful development programs that enhance employee performance and organizational success.
