Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 — Biplab G. has been appointed as Business Head – APAC, Arthroplasty Portfolio at Meril, further strengthening the company’s leadership team as it looks to expand its footprint across the Asia-Pacific region. He will initially be based in Mumbai, with a planned relocation to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With over two decades of experience in the healthcare sector, Biplab brings a rich blend of expertise in sales, marketing, and business transformation. Prior to joining Meril, he served as Director Sales – GP Business at Align Technology and spent seven impactful years with Zimmer Biomet in multiple business leadership roles, including full P&L responsibilities for SET Products and Trauma & Spine divisions.
Earlier in his career, Biplab held regional leadership roles at Smith & Nephew, Johnson & Johnson, and BD, where he successfully led teams and strategies across varied geographies. His journey began with Panacea Biotec Ltd and Pfizer Ltd, where he built a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sales and distribution.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Biplab is well regarded for his performance-driven approach, strategic vision, and deep understanding of diverse healthcare markets. In his new role at Meril, he will focus on accelerating growth, enhancing operational effectiveness, and driving market expansion across APAC in the orthopaedics and arthroplasty segment.
