Calgary, Alberta, Canada, April 2026 — Brett Wiens has started a new position as Chief Technology Officer at Waters Worldwide, marking a significant leadership milestone as the company advances its mission of transforming fragmented infrastructure and operational data into unified, decision-ready intelligence.
In his new role, Brett Wiens will lead Waters Worldwide’s technical direction, product architecture, infrastructure, and AI/ML strategy. He is responsible for building and scaling the company’s command infrastructure corridor intelligence platform, overseeing engineering execution, defining security and reliability standards, and driving the long-term technology roadmap as the organization expands.
Alongside this appointment, Brett also serves as Co-Founder of Waters Worldwide, where he is designing and developing CiCi (Command Infrastructure Corridor Intelligence) — an advanced platform that monitors pipelines, ports, rail systems, and logistics corridors as integrated infrastructure ecosystems. The platform delivers predictive insights, real-time monitoring, and actionable intelligence to improve strategic routing, timing, and capital deployment decisions.
Prior to joining Waters Worldwide, Brett spent over 17 years at Cenovus Energy, where he held several increasingly senior leadership roles including Specialist HR Data and Analytics, Manager, Analytics and Reporting (HR), Senior Advisor, Data Science, and Senior Advisor, Geospatial Services.
During his tenure at Cenovus Energy, he built enterprise-scale HR data lakehouses, automated predictive workforce models, developed AI/ML-powered operational systems, and pioneered Western Canada’s first regulator-approved machine learning-based emissions compliance system. His work significantly enhanced operational performance, workforce planning, geospatial intelligence, and environmental stewardship across large-scale industrial systems.
Earlier in his career, Brett also contributed to organizations including Golder Associates, the University of Calgary, and the City of Calgary, building a strong foundation in geospatial systems, data science, analytics, and strategic planning.
With deep expertise spanning AI, predictive analytics, geospatial intelligence, enterprise data systems, and infrastructure technology, Brett’s appointment positions Waters Worldwide to strengthen its leadership in intelligent infrastructure decision-making.
