Toulouse, France, December 6, 2024 – Airbus SE (AIR) has announced the appointment of Carmen-Maja Rex as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective April 1, 2025. In this pivotal role, she will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and report directly to Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO. Rex brings a wealth of experience, currently serving as Human Resources Group Director at Heidelberg Materials, a global leader in building materials and solutions.
Her appointment follows the tenure of Thierry Baril, who has served Airbus for nearly 22 years, including 12 years as CHRO. Baril will support a seamless transition before departing later in 2025.

Rex began her career as a consultant with Accenture in 1999 and later joined the United Nations in 2003. In 2010, she moved to Siemens, holding several HR leadership roles. Since 2020, she has been with Heidelberg Materials, overseeing a global workforce of 51,000 employees across more than 50 countries. Her extensive international experience in human resources and organizational leadership will play a critical role in Airbus’s future growth and transformation.
