New York, United States – November 2024 – John S. Ozburn has been appointed as Vice President, Talent Management at Hays. In this role, Ozburn will focus on advancing the organization’s talent strategies, working closely with leadership to enhance workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational development. His extensive experience in global HR leadership positions makes him an ideal fit to drive Hays’ initiatives aimed at empowering both people and businesses.
Before joining Hays, John Ozburn served as Vice President, Global Human Resources Partners at Trident Seafoods. In this role, he was responsible for leading HR initiatives across the $2.5 billion company, developing global HR partners, and implementing talent management and acquisition improvements that strengthened Trident’s employee lifecycle and talent capabilities.

Prior to Trident Seafoods, Ozburn held various senior HR positions at Amazon, where he spent over nine years. He initially joined as Global Human Resources Leader before advancing to a Global Leadership Development Leader role. At Amazon, he was instrumental in designing and implementing leadership programs, executive coaching, and metrics dashboards that improved operational transparency and leader engagement. His contributions played a pivotal role in enhancing Amazon’s global HR framework across ten countries, including the United States, India, and Japan.
Earlier in his career, Ozburn served as Regional Director of Human Resources for Republic Services, focusing on executive coaching, high-potential development, and succession planning for the Northwest region. His success in creating effective leadership development programs and implementing a national military outreach initiative helped the organization strengthen its talent pool and reduce time-to-hire for operational roles.
Ozburn began his HR career as Vice President of Human Resources at Tecta America Corp, where he facilitated the integration of 29 acquired companies. His work in developing robust talent acquisition and management systems contributed to the organization’s successful growth trajectory.
