Johannesburg, South Africa, April 2025 — WastePlan has announced the appointment of Chanel Kimberly Hammond-Moodley as Head of Talent, Training and Development. In this strategic leadership role, she is responsible for shaping the company’s workforce strategy by attracting and retaining purpose-driven talent, equipping employees with critical skills for an evolving sustainability sector, and developing future leaders who will drive WastePlan’s vision of a circular economy.
Hammond-Moodley has been with WastePlan for over four years, where she most recently served as National (Internal) Recruitment Specialist, successfully leading internal recruitment strategies and aligning them with organizational growth. Prior to this, she held the role of Human Resources and Industrial Relations Supervisor at Sesfigile Logistics, where she managed talent and HR operations.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a Human Resources and Talent Administrator at Crestco Holdings, and as a Pharmaceutical Talent Sourcing Specialist at Ultra Pharmaceutical & Medical Placements, where she specialized in recruitment for key pharmaceutical and healthcare roles.
She also gained experience as a Recruitment Consultant at PSS Recruitment and Associate Recruiter at Robert Walters Plc in London, honing her expertise in talent scouting, end-to-end recruitment, and applicant tracking systems. Hammond-Moodley began her career at Daymon Worldwide, where she worked as an HR Assistant and later as a Retail Support Officer, building a strong foundation in HR operations and employee support.
