Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Harshvardhan Nawathe has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JSW Foundation, the social development arm of the JSW Group. In his new role, Harshvardhan will spearhead the organization’s strategic direction, overseeing a wide range of impactful social initiatives across India. Collaborating closely with the Chairperson and Board of Directors, his leadership will play a crucial role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to empower communities and foster sustainable development.
Harshvardhan has been with JSW Foundation since May 2023, previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer, where he led operations across India, spanning thematic areas such as education, health, livelihoods, water, agriculture, and sports. His expertise in strategic planning and program execution significantly strengthened the Foundation’s impact.

Before joining JSW Foundation, Harshvardhan served as Director & Head of Sustainable Banking Performance, Frameworks, Giving & Governance at NatWest Group, where he was responsible for sustainability and CSR initiatives. At Welspun Group, he held leadership roles as Vice President – Group CSR and Chief Operating Officer of Welspun Foundation, focusing on innovative corporate social responsibility strategies.
Earlier, he led group-level CSR initiatives at Mahindra Group as Head Group CSR, driving programs aligned with sustainable development goals. His experience also includes leadership roles at Naandi Foundation, where he directed large-scale education and water access initiatives across India.
