Charles Sturt University is delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Jessop as the new Chief Information and Digital Officer. With her tenure beginning in March 2024, Jessop brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in the ASX, Private Equity, and Government sectors, positioning her as a key player in Charles Sturt University’s continued push towards digital transformation and operational excellence.
Throughout her remarkable career spanning over two decades, Jessop has been instrumental in leading digital transformation initiatives, earning accolades such as the Telstra Women’s Awards for Innovation in both the Public and Academia Sectors in 2019. Her approach to transformation has always put people at the core, fostering positive cultural shifts within organizations.
Before joining Charles Sturt University, Jessop served as the Executive Director at the NSW Government, where she was responsible for a range of transformational roles including COO, CFO, as well as leading digital and operational changes. During her tenure, Jessop achieved significant milestones, such as improving the student and staff experience at TAFE NSW through the integration of enhanced management systems, and spearheading the ERP AESG2.0 (SAP) product solution across the Department of Communities and Justice, harmonizing processes and systems across finance, HR, procurement, and EAM.
Prior to her impactful work with the NSW Government, Jessop was the Executive Leader of the Transformation Office at IXOM, where she led a comprehensive program of operational transformation to uplift profits. Additionally, she served as a Senior Management Consultant at Direct Consulting, aiding a diverse client base in achieving operational efficiency through strategic people, process, system, and data strategies.
At Charles Sturt University, Jessop will play a crucial role in the senior leadership team, focusing on the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy to support the university’s vision and growth initiatives. She reports directly to Chief Financial Officer Shawn Power, who expressed confidence in Jessop’s ability to drive forward the university’s digital agenda.
