Greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, December 2025 — Chris Kearney has been appointed as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Blackthorn, marking a significant advancement in his leadership journey in global technology sales. In this role, he will drive revenue strategy, expand enterprise market presence, and strengthen commercial growth globally for the Salesforce-native event and payments technology leader.
Before stepping into the CRO role, Chris Kearney served as SVP of Sales at Blackthorn, contributing to the company’s go-to-market success and scaling the sales organization with a strong focus on performance, alignment, and customer value delivery.
Prior to Blackthorn, he held the position of Director, Enterprise Sales at Monotype, where he led a high-performing team of enterprise sellers helping global brands unlock the power of visual communication through typography solutions. His work centered on strategic direction, advanced coaching, and building capabilities that drove consistent sales excellence.
Earlier, Chris Kearney spent over a decade at Cvent, where he progressed through multiple leadership roles including Senior Manager of Sales, Enterprise Solutions, Senior Manager of Sales, Event Solutions, Regional Sales Director, Regional Sales Manager, and Senior Account Executive. During his tenure, he consistently exceeded quotas, delivered record sales performance, led player-coach teams, expanded territories across the U.S. and Canada, opened European office operations, and supported APAC expansion — establishing a reputation as a top performer and transformational sales leader.
Chris began his career in hospitality and operations roles including leadership at Shooter McGees and a global exposure experience in Australia at Aztec Byron Bay, followed by his first corporate business development role at Cvent’s London office — helping scale its Europe presence while continuing to drive strong client acquisition results.
