London, England, United Kingdom, November 2025 – AWE, a center of excellence in nuclear science and technology supporting the United Kingdom’s defence mission, has appointed Clare Allcock as its new Head of People Experience. With an impressive career spanning over 26 years in healthcare strategy, consultancy, and organizational development, Clare brings a deep passion for improving people systems and designing workplaces where talent, purpose, and performance thrive together.
In her new role, Clare will lead initiatives that enhance AWE’s employee experience, engagement, and people transformation agenda, ensuring that the organization continues to foster an inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with its mission to safeguard national security through innovation and scientific excellence.
Before joining AWE, Clare Allcock served for seven years at Kaleidoscope Health & Care, where she was Managing Director of Consultancy, company director, and board member. She led a 30-member consulting team to deliver transformative projects across the UK’s health sector—partnering with government bodies, NHS trusts, and integrated care systems. Clare directed several high-impact initiatives including the Department of Health and Social Care’s 10-year plan, where she spearheaded a staff engagement program involving over 3,700 NHS employees, and the NHS England Managing Heart Failure @home initiative, which was commended at the 2025 HSJ Partnership Awards.
Prior to Kaleidoscope, Clare held leadership roles in healthcare commissioning and policy. As Head of Strategy & Transformation (Primary Care and Community Development) across multiple CCGs, she oversaw long-term condition strategies, workforce planning, and primary care network development across 52 GP practices and community providers.
Clare also served as a Senior Policy Fellow at The Health Foundation, one of the UK’s largest independent health charities. There, she co-authored Constructive Comfort: Accelerating Change in the NHS, a landmark publication cited by NHS England’s Vanguard programme for its influence on systemic innovation.
Her earlier tenure at the UK Department of Health saw her take on critical roles such as Deputy Director, NHS Policy, Strategy & Delivery Unit, where she supported ministers in driving major health priorities, winter planning, and cross-government collaboration. She also contributed to NHS England as Senior Project Manager, Commissioning Resources, shaping national guidance to improve commissioning outcomes and value for money.
