Munich, May 2024 – Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems, a global market leader in braking systems and other rail vehicle technologies, is delighted to announce the appointment of Daniel Balwanz as Vice President of Human Resources. In his new role, Daniel will focus on developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that will support Knorr-Bremse’s global workforce.
Daniel brings over 20 years of human resources and leadership experience to Knorr-Bremse. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vice President and Head of Human Resources at Motherson Group, where he led the global HR function during a crucial carve-out process from Forvia to Motherson. In this role, he played a key part in reorganization, integration planning, and execution.
Before Motherson Group, Daniel was Human Resources Director for Faurecia’s Europe Division from April 2021 to July 2023, where he oversaw HR strategies and transformation initiatives across the division. His previous roles at Faurecia also included Global Human Resources Director for the Interior Systems division.
During his six-year tenure at WABCO, Daniel held leadership positions including Global Human Resources Director for Integrated Supply Chain and Global Human Resources Director for Product Engineering. He was responsible for overseeing HR strategies for manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering functions, driving transformation, productivity, and global workforce planning.
His earlier career includes roles at Papyrus, where he served as Human Resources Director from April 2012 to October 2014. At Faurecia Interior Systems, he worked as both Human Resources Manager and Employee Empowerment & Training Coordinator. His comprehensive experience in human resources spans across several industries and has seen him thrive in diverse environments.
