Based in Austin, he will lead the development of a world-class executive hiring function, partnering closely with senior leadership to attract top-tier talent and support AMD’s next phase of innovation in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
Daniel Clarkson joins AMD with deep expertise in executive talent acquisition and global recruiting strategy. In his new role, he is focused on building and leading a best-in-class executive search organization aligned with the rapid evolution of the semiconductor industry, identifying visionary leaders who will shape the future of computing.
Prior to AMD, he served as Director Talent Acquisition at Microsoft, where he led talent acquisition for gaming and design functions across North America, partnering with senior leadership to drive innovative recruitment strategies and optimize hiring processes.
Earlier, Daniel spent nearly five years at LinkedIn, where he held multiple leadership roles including Head of Global Executive Talent Acquisition and Director of Leadership & Executive Talent Acquisition. During this period, he led global executive hiring strategies across engineering, product, and corporate functions, playing a critical role in building leadership pipelines for a rapidly growing organization.
Before LinkedIn, he spent over eight years at Google, where he held roles such as Global Staffing Manager and Staffing Lead – EMEA, leading global hiring strategies across business and technical functions and managing large, distributed recruitment teams across regions.
His earlier career includes leadership roles in recruitment and talent consulting across global markets, where he built strong expertise in executive search, engineering talent acquisition, and team leadership.
