London, United Kingdom, April 2025 – Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L), the world’s lifelong learning company, has announced that Dave Treat, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, will take on leadership of Pearson’s digital and technology operations in addition to his current architectural and innovation responsibilities. This expanded role is effective April 7, 2025, as Marykay Wells, the current Chief Information Officer, departs the company on April 4.
Dave Treat joined Pearson nine months ago and has already made a transformative impact by establishing the company’s AI Center of Enablement and overseeing the Research & Development and Ventures teams. With nearly three decades of experience in technology innovation, generative AI, spatial computing, Web 3, and quantum computing, Dave previously held senior roles at Deloitte, UBS Investment Bank, and Accenture. He holds more than 100 patents across distributed ledger technology, digital identity, and confidential computing.

In his expanded capacity, Dave Treat will drive the scaling of Pearson’s AI capabilities, enhance the innovation pipeline, and foster cross-functional collaboration across the business. He continues to serve on prominent industry boards such as the Linux Hyperledger Foundation, Digital Dollar Project, and Global Business Blockchain Council.
Dave holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan and a Psychology degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He remains based in Connecticut, USA.
