Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 2024 – Dean Kennedy has joined Associated Engineering as the new Chief People & Culture Officer. With an extensive background in human resources and organizational development, Dean is poised to enhance the company’s culture and talent management strategies.
Dean Kennedy previously served as Director of Human Resources at Clean Harbors from 2022 to 2024. In this role, he led HR operations for Clean Harbors’ Canadian Industrial Services business, overseeing 1,700+ union and non-union employees across Canada.
Before Clean Harbors, Dean was a Manager, People Advisory Services at EY in Calgary, Alberta, where he delivered management consulting services focusing on the Future of Work, Change Management, Culture Change, Organizational Design, Leadership Development, and HR Transformation.
Dean’s experience also includes his role as Sr. Manager, People & Culture at TechnipFMC from 2018 to 2020. He led the HR organization for TechnipFMC’s Canadian region and was a member of the North American Human Resources Leadership Team.
From 2013 to 2018, Dean was the Director of Human Resources at Aegion Corporation, where he led a team supporting multiple business units across Canada, the US, and internationally. He was a key member of senior leadership teams for various operations within the company.
Dean also worked at North American Construction Group as Manager, Talent Management from 2011 to 2013, where he developed and improved performance management, career development, succession planning, and employee engagement programs.
Earlier in his career, Dean spent seven years at Orano (formerly AREVA), holding multiple roles, including Human Resources Manager and Organization & Employee Development Advisor. He was responsible for HR services and global talent management tools and processes.
Dean started his career as an IT Help Desk Technician at Orano before transitioning into HR roles, demonstrating a diverse skill set in both IT and HR functions.
