Greater Boston, United States, December 2024 – Debra Thompson has been named the Vice President of Human Resources at Organogenesis, where she will lead the company’s end-to-end people functions. Organogenesis, a pioneer in regenerative medicine, focuses on advanced wound care, surgical, and sports medicine markets. Debra’s expertise in HR transformation, talent acquisition, and leadership development will be pivotal in fostering an innovative, people-centric culture that aligns with the company’s mission of improving medical outcomes and patient lives.
Before joining Organogenesis, Debra served as Vice President Human Resources at Hologic, Inc., where she was instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business goals, driving talent development, and enhancing employee engagement in a hybrid work environment.
Previously, Debra was the Chief People & Integration Officer at Fortis Life Sciences, where she led the integration of six acquisitions and a greenfield startup in South Korea, expanding Fortis into a global enterprise. She achieved impressive results, including reducing turnover by nearly 50% and deploying leadership development programs for over 60 managers.
Debra also held the role of Vice President Human Resources at Asuragen, where she developed a multi-year people and culture strategy, resulting in a successful acquisition by Bio-Techne for $320M. She led initiatives that earned the company awards like the Austin Mayor’s Healthiest Workplace Award and Cigna’s Wellbeing Award.
Earlier in her career, Debra held several senior HR roles, including Director of HR, Business Transformation & Integration at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she led global site consolidations and business transformations.
